New resource library to promote basic accessibility

  • photo of ramp and blue sign with wheelchair accessibility symbolAre your organization’s public meetings and events always hosted at accessible locations?  And do you ask at registration whether participants need accommodations like ASL interpreters?
  • Is your organization’s website and social media accessible to people who are blind?
  • Do you always caption your organization’s videos?
  • When you release reports or publish handouts, are they accessible to people with disabilities?

If you are not sure, or if you know your organization needs help on becoming more inclusive of people with disabilities, we can help! We’re thrilled to announce that Disability Inclusion & Access has a list of short, easy-to-use resources to help anyone to remove basic barriers to accessibility.  Topics include: conducting a self-assessment of your organization’s accessibility; improving accessibility of websites and social media; creating accessible documents; captioning videos; and planning accessible meetings. Go to the resource library to get started!
