FISA Foundation is pleased to announce that Judge Kim Berkeley Clark, Nancy A. Hubley, Suzie Lachut, and Alexis James Steals have been elected to serve on our Board of Directors.
The newly appointed board members bring a distinguished collective background in championing equitable education, advancing justice, eliminating food insecurity, and nurturing leadership development. Their combined years of experience reflect a deep commitment to FISA’s mission of advancing equity, justice, safety, and inclusion for women, girls, and people with disabilities, and to addressing structural racism.

Judge Kim Berkeley Clark is a retired judge of the Court of Common Pleas in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Before her retirement, Judge Clark served as the President Judge of the 5th Judicial District of PA and is the first African American to serve as President Judge in Allegheny County. Judge Clark also served as the Chairperson of the PA Juvenile Court Judges’ Commission, the President of the PA Legal Aid Network, as well as many state committees, work groups, and task forces. She is currently the Chairperson of PA Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD)’s Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Committee. Judge Clark has received numerous awards and honors for her leadership in the legal field.

Nancy A. Hubley is a retired civil rights attorney who spent over three decades as the Director of the Pittsburgh office of the Education Law Center. Throughout her career, Ms. Hubley represented students and families to ensure all children in Pennsylvania had access to a quality public education. Her commitment continues as she serves as the Chair of the Governing Board of the University of Pittsburgh Office of Children Development’s Early Head Start Program and as a member of the Board of Directors of Friends of Aseema.

Suzie Lachut is the Vice President of Partnership Development and Marketing for Parkhurst Dining, the contract dining division of Eat’n Park Hospitality Group. She has spent a decade on the Board of Directors of the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, where she served in various leadership roles. Ms. Lachut is a member of the United Way’s Women United group and is an active alumna of Duquesne University, where she serves on the alumni advisory council. She was recognized as a Pittsburgh Magazine 2022 40 Under 40 awardee.

Alexis James Steals has 25 years of experience working for financial service providers, including PNC Bank, National City Bank, and Bank of New York Mellon. After a successful career in Financial Services, Ms. Steals brought her experience and expertise to the non-profit organization, The Advanced Leadership Institute (TALI), where she is the Vice President of Operations. Ms. Steals also serves as an Executive-in-Residence Coach with the Forbes Funds and leads TALI’s Emerging Leaders Program.
