Changing Attitudes:The Power of One
The good news is that attitudes about abuse are changing. Over the last forty years, gradually victims of sexual and domestic violence have begun speaking out and being met with support instead of shame. These individual courageous risks have helped to turn the tide of public attitudes, though there is still a long way to go.
Recently Steeler William Gay has taken the risk to speak out against domestic violence, and support victims in seeking help. See his remarks at www.wcspittsburgh.org.
Use your voice to continue changing attitudes. Continue to speak out against violence.
Every voice matters.
